Although one of his biggest fans I do agree with some of what Pam says and most of the article above.

Long term Injuries are terrible and the mental side requires as much healing as the physical.

It’s not a slump in as much as he scored runs in both the T20 games but failed in the ODI thus far.

Whatever the reason for his current slump in form, he should follow Strauss’ example and go off to the Antipodes, or wherever, to try and regain his form. Otherwise, the message to the rest of the team is powerful ‘KP is fireproof and plays whatever’. Dangerous message, no?

Dear Nurdler
I think your misgivings are shared about Bell paying Twenty-20 with the Lions or even 50-overs for that matter. I think the selection was decided before the SA Tests and reflects Bell’s batting alongside the performance squad before the SA Tests.
Bell was a good ODI player and to be out of the squad behind Denly is just ridiculous.
The problem is that Bell will be the only member of the Test top six not to play Bangladesh in the ODIs and so not get acclimatised to the sultry climate/Bangladeshi bowlers.
Poor management.

This is ridiculous, group bookings get massive discounts and the hotel would want the prestige of the England cricket team staying there. Nobody ever pays the list price of a hotel anyway (or they shouldn’t).

Saw your link to this article on Twitter, nearly replied “South Africa!” without reading your piece. Glad I held off.

I think solid tussles with Ponting and Smith over the last 6 months will have done wonders for Strauss’s captaincy. Dare I suggest that we are in danger of becoming hard to beat?
